Australian primary and secondary schools
I. Introduction to Australian Primary Schools
Australian student visas underwent significant changes starting in July, allowing Chinese primary school students to study in Australia. Furthermore, one parent can now accompany the student long-term. Australian primary schools, especially public primary schools, officially began accepting applications from Chinese students on July 14, 2016. Children applying for primary school admission must be at least six weeks old at the time of visa application. No language requirements are necessary; schools provide English language support to international students while they attend classes alongside local students. Therefore, children do not need to attend intensive English classes before enrollment.
II. Introduction to Australian Secondary Schools
Compared to the single education system in China, Australia offers students more choices. Students can choose to attend government public schools, selective schools, or private schools, and they can also choose co-educational schools or schools for boys and girls.
